Basic maintenance and upkeep of rotary joints

The rotary joint is an important sealing device for fluid transmission in both dynamic and static equipment. Due to prolonged operation of the equipment, the sealing components of the rotary joint may experience wear, damage, and leakage.  Therefore, it is particularly important to carry out necessary routine maintenance on the rotary joint.

    The following aspects should be primarily addressed: 

   The rotating joint drum and the interior of the pipeline should be kept clean. Special attention should be paid to new equipment, and filters must be added to avoid abnormal wear of the rotating joint caused by foreign objects. Long term disuse of the machine can cause scaling and rusting inside the rotary joint. Please be aware that there may be jamming or dripping during reuse. If equipped with an oil injection device, please regularly inject oil to ensure the reliability of the rotary joint bearing operation. The rotary joint for fluid media should gradually warm up to avoid sudden temperature changes. Check the wear condition and thickness change of the sealing surface of the seal (usually normal wear is 5-10mm); Observe the friction trajectory of the sealing surface to see if there are any issues such as three-point interruptions or scratches. If there are any such problems, they should be replaced immediately. Rotating joints should be handled with care and are strictly prohibited from being impacted to avoid loss of joint components. It is also strictly forbidden for foreign objects to enter the interior of the rotating joint. The fixed and anti rotation devices must not be loose or detached. Do not idle the rotary joint for a long time.
